A meeting on the development of the Almaty mountain cluster was held in the capital. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov, as well as representatives of the ski industry and specialists of international companies.
During the meeting, the head of STEM International, Vincent Tassar, presented the project for the development of ski tourism in the region.
The main objectives of the project:
✅ Expand the Shymbulak resort and combine it with the Oi-Karagai recreation area.
✅ Increase the number of cable cars from 13 to 35.
✅ Increase the number of one-day tourists visiting the resort from 6 thousand to 24 thousand people.
✅ Extend the length of ski trails from 41 km to 90-124 km.
✅ Increase the annual tourist flow to 5 million people.
