On behalf of the mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dossayev, 2,000 rental apartments were allocated from the municipal housing fund in 2024.
Orphans, veterans, disabled people of Groups 1 and 2, members of single-parent and large families, pensioners and parents raising disabled children – a total of 201 people received this shelter.
Deputy head of the Department for the development of municipal infrastructure of Almaty Galymzhan Abdishukurovich congratulated the residents celebrating the housewarming and explained in detail the technical issues.
- This is a very important moment for me. I am happy to get an apartment in a new, modern house. I have been waiting for housing since 2013. Previously, I rented a house in the private sector. I am very grateful to the existing state programs that allow me to buy a house, – one of the waiting lists, Zulfira Khaliulova, shared her joy.
In the first half of the year, 1080 families received rental housing in Nauryzbay and Medeu districts.
In November, it is planned to hand over the keys to another 920 Almaty residents, who will settle in New Apartments in Nauryzbay district.
Of the 2,000 apartments allocated, 400 were given to orphans, 250 to families raising people with special needs and disabled children, and 1,350 to other categories (veterans, large families, single-parent families, etc.).
In addition, this year 2100 rental apartments were provided for working Almaty youth. The right-to-buy rental housing program for working youth aims to support young people and encourage them to purchase their own housing.
The lease agreement for working youth establishes the amount of monthly payment from 7 to 15 thousand tenge, does not provide for the right to purchase and the possibility of extending the lease term. In addition, tenants of rental housing for working youth are required to accumulate funds for a deposit for the subsequent purchase of housing with a mortgage from second-tier banks within three years.
