A solemn ceremony dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shakarim University was held in the Abai region. Students and staff of the university prepared a theatrical performance reflecting the key moments of the struggle of the Kazakh people for enlightenment.
Deputy Akim of the region Abai Zhasulan Sarsebayev noted the strategic role of Shakarim University for the region, emphasizing its contribution to personnel training and economic development.
"Shakarim University has given wings to many graduates who today faithfully serve for the benefit of the state. He brought up outstanding personalities who became the backbone and pride of the nation. Today, the university is a multidisciplinary educational institution with rich work experience and extensive international relations focused on the comprehensive development of the younger generation of Kazakhstan. May the number of graduates glorifying their native land and strengthening its authority only increase every year! I wish the university staff success, fruitful work and conquering new heights," Zhasulan Sarsebayev said.
During the gala evening, awards and letters of thanks from the akim of the Abai region were presented to employees who made a significant contribution to the development of the university.
As part of the anniversary events of Shakarim University, the opening of the Mikhail Semenovich Panin cabinet, an outstanding scientist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor and academician, Co-working Center for Sustainable Development, created on the basis of the Higher School of Business, took place. A unique museum dedicated to the life and work of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher and educator Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev was also opened.
