The Asian Ice Hockey Championship starts in Almaty, an event that is being held for the first time in the history of the continent. The tournament, organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), will bring together the national teams of Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea and China. The tournament will be held from November 6-9 at the Halyk Arena ice arena.
This event will rightfully become a historic one for the country. At the same time, it is worth noting that the men's national team of Kazakhstan will perform in Almaty for the first time.
The Halyk Arena ice arena, commissioned in 2016, previously hosted international ice hockey competitions as part of the 2017 Winter Universiade, where the student national team of Kazakhstan won silver medals. In addition, in 2003, Almaty hosted the games of Group A of the World Youth Hockey Championship of the first division. In the decisive match, our national team lost to the team from Japan.

The Asian Championship in Almaty will be an important stage in preparation for the Asian Games, which will be held from February 7 to 14, 2025 in Harbin, China.
