With the beginning of the heating period, the risk of fires associated with the use of heating appliances increases significantly. One of the most effective measures is to conduct preventive raids in the residential sector, especially among socially vulnerable groups of citizens.
As part of these events, employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Abai region, together with representatives of local executive bodies, volunteers and social workers, visit homes where pensioners, large families, people with disabilities and low-income citizens live.
The main purpose is to check the condition of heating appliances, electrical wiring and chimneys, as well as identify potential sources of fire. Specialists not only carry out an inspection, but also conduct explanatory conversations with residents, informing them about the basic rules of fire safety.
During the raids, carbon monoxide sensors are also being installed in the homes of socially vulnerable citizens. So, since the beginning of the heating season, 1,342 such sensors have already been installed in the territory of the Abai region. It is important to note that the timely operation of these devices made it possible to prevent a tragedy and save the life of one person this year.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds citizens of the importance of observing fire safety rules and the need to regularly check the condition of heating appliances. Holding such events helps to reduce the risk of fires and provides additional protection for socially vulnerable segments of the population.
