In the capital's schools, lectures on the rights and duties of students have begun to be held as part of the work on crime prevention. One of them was organized in gymnasium No. 90 named after Kayym Mukhamedkhanov for middle and high school students, the official website of the Akimat of Astana reports.
"Today's event is aimed at the general safety of children. At the same time, we will talk about crime prevention, a lot of work is being done in this area both within schools and at the city level.
16 mobile groups have been formed that will visit schools and talk with students in grades 8-11. These groups include representatives of the Department of Education, the Prosecutor's Office, the Police Department, as well as cultural and sports figures. We have drawn up a schedule and according to it we will visit all schools and colleges in Astana," said Deputy Head of the Department of Education Serik Adylbayev.
In addition, the students were given advice on what to do in case of problems.
"Our goal is not only to tell you how not to act, but also to show care. We explain that in case of a problem, students can receive psychological help. For example, if there is a conflict with peers, bullying, difficult relationships with a teacher or parents, you cannot remain silent, you need to talk about your problems, and the class teacher or school psychologist will provide support," added the deputy head of the Department of Education.
During the lecture, the students were introduced to the basic rights and obligations of citizens of Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to fostering respect for the law, understanding the role of law and order and responsibility for one's own actions.
"Currently, 2,079 children study in our school in two shifts. We hold school meetings, and security measures are discussed at meetings with parents. We have made some changes to the internal rules of the school, putting the safety of the child first. The safety of every student is very important to us," said Zhasulan Manenov, head teacher for educational work at Gymnasium No. 90.
The organizers of the event noted that such events will help students better understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as realize the importance of observing the laws.
