To date, the gross harvest of grain crops has amounted to 26.6 million tons of cereals and legumes, which is 56% higher than in 2023. The average yield was 16 kg/ha.
Grain of the new harvest began to be traded for export: in September-October of this year, according to JSC NC KTZ, 1.8 million tons were exported, which is 48% more than in the same period last year (1.2 million tons).
Thus, exports to Uzbekistan amounted to 738 thousand tons, which is 49% more than in the same period of 2023; 298 thousand tons were shipped to Tajikistan, or 48% more than last year. Positive dynamics is also observed in other areas, including China, Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and other areas.
Given that importing countries currently have their own grain reserves, a significant increase in grain exports is projected in the first half of 2025. Work on diversifying export routes and expanding sales markets continues.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that distorted information is being spread on social networks about a decrease in grain exports, which sows panic and leads to dumping of prices on the market.
We inform you that the harvest of 2024 is 45% higher in terms of shaft, as well as in quality, which creates a reserve for export.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the Food Corporation supports agricultural producers by providing them with forward contracts and commodity loans. So, this year, contracts worth more than 40 billion tenge were signed for the purchase of about 594 thousand tons of grain.
In addition, the Food Corporation is working on the issue of direct purchase of new crop grain with prioritization of purchases from small farms.
