In 2024, repairs were carried out at Shymkent, Pavlodar and Kyzylorda railway stations to further improve the transport infrastructure. The goal is to improve the quality of passenger service and bring the infrastructure in line with modern standards.
Thus, the Shymkent and Pavlodar railway stations have been completely reconstructed, and the Kyzylorda railway station has been overhauled.
Shymkent Railway Station has significantly increased its capacity — from 2,000 to 6,000 passengers per day. The total area of the building has been expanded from 1770.2 to 2250 square meters.
Two freight and passenger elevators for people with disabilities have been installed at the Pavlodar railway station. Tactile signs are laid in the building, special rest rooms and sanitary facilities are equipped.
Two historical railway station buildings, built in 1905 and 1968, have been renovated in Kyzylorda. Passenger traffic has increased significantly.

Facades, doors, windows and utilities have been updated at all three stations. Ramps, tactile paths and special ticket offices have been installed for people with special needs. In addition, modern Wi-Fi zones, information screens and X-ray machines for checking luggage have been introduced.

To date, 20 pairs of trains depart from Shymkent station in various directions, 16 pairs from Pavlodar station, and 15 pairs from Kyzylorda station.
