A new modern Zhastar park has been put into operation in Turkestan. The opening ceremony was attended by Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy, who congratulated residents and guests of the city on the upcoming Independence Day holiday.
– I cordially congratulate you on Independence Day! Six years ago, a new Turkestan region was formed, and today Turkestan has become not only the administrative center of the region, but also the spiritual and cultural center of the Turkic world. The city is actively developing, acquiring a new infrastructure and a modern look. Landscaping and creating comfortable conditions for residents and visitors of the city, as well as increasing green spaces, remain an important area. The opening of the Zhastar Park complex is a vivid example of these efforts. This park will be a wonderful place to relax, which will decorate our city. We must carefully preserve such facilities created for the benefit of the people," said Darkhan Satybaldy.
Famous Kazakhstani artists, including Madina Sadvakasova, Gazizkhan Shekerbekov and Mahmud Urimbayev, also performed at the event.
The total area of the park is 10.5 hectares. Recreation areas, skateboard courts, a chess club, game areas, 2-kilometer running and bike paths are provided on the territory. About 70 species of plants imported from different continents, including the Mediterranean, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia and other regions, are grown in the closed greenhouse. Plants include palm trees, ficus trees, tropical, desert, subtropical and citrus species. The greenhouse will also be used for biology lessons for schoolchildren. Birds and fish live in the park.
It should be noted that in Turkestan today there are 32 parks, 32 squares and alleys, as well as 15 green areas and territories.
