The Department of Youth Policy of the city of Almaty, together with the Department of Emergency Situations (DFS), are conducting a series of training events on seismic safety among the youth of the city. These events are held on the basis of universities in the city.
One of these meetings was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. Senior officer, Lieutenant Colonel of the Department of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Almaty Medeu Shakenov told the participants in detail about the security measures that must be observed in case of emergencies.
"Natural disasters cannot be predicted. Therefore, in order for them to protect themselves, we must ensure that young people are ready to act in emergency situations. That's why we train young people through such activities and develop their ability to protect themselves and others in an emergency in the first place. It is very important for young people to hold such information events," said the representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Medeu Shakenov.
The event also addressed issues of prevention of natural disasters, extinguishing fires caused by the human factor, as well as providing first aid and psychological assistance.
"Thanks to today's event, I got a lot of new information for myself. I think every citizen should know what to do in an emergency situation. If such events take place in the future, I will definitely take part," said student Erbol Bakytbekov.
In addition, a number of similar events are planned in all community centers of our city to explain safety measures to young people.
