On December 16, flowers will be laid at the Independence Monument on Republic Square in Almaty. The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Veterans Council and the Mayor's Office of the city, public organizations, ethnic and cultural associations, participants in the December 1986 events.
On December 17, as part of the 38th anniversary of the December 1986 events, flowers will be laid at the monument "Tauelsizdik tany". The ceremony will be attended by participants of the December events, representatives of the mayor's office and youth organizations of the city. The participants will observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims. Representatives of the clergy will read a memorial prayer.
Festive events will also be held in the districts of the city.
Concerts dedicated to December events will be held in Almaly district on December 13 at the Ten Qogam center of Almaly district and at the Almaty Tchaikovsky Music College.
A round table "Tauelsizdik - mangilik eldin tugyry" will be held in the Bostandyk district on December 15 at 16:00 in the community center of the district. On December 16, at 18:00, the Mega Alma-Ata shopping center will host a performance by the academic state folklore and ethnographic orchestra "Otyrar Sazy" named after Nurgisa Tlendieva.
On December 13, at 11:30 a.m., a meeting on the topic "Babalarym ansan – Tauelsizdik" will be held in the Medeu district at the B. Momyshuly Lyceum No.131.
A festive concert for pensioners will be held in the Turksib district on December 13 at the active longevity center of the district. On December 14, the community center of the district will host a round table "Ardagerlerdi ardaktayyk!" with participants of the December events and the youth of the district.
On December 13, at 11:00 in Nauryzbay district, a concert program "Tugyr biik-tauelsizdik" will be held at the Center for Innovative Creativity (Shugyla mkr., 347/4).
On December 13, at 11:00 in Auezovsky district, a festive concert "Tauelsizdik tynysyn, bugingi duletin, yerteng yrysyn" will be held in the assembly hall of the Almaty Technological College, and a flash mob dedicated to Independence Day will be held in the community center of Auezovsky district.
On December 13, at 14:00, a festive concert "Tauelsizdik - Tugyrym" will be held in the House of Culture in conjunction with school No. 193 in Zhetysu district.
Open lessons, conferences and meetings dedicated to the December events are held in all educational institutions of the city during the month.
