On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the long-awaited opening of a new fire station took place in Aktobe, which became a significant step in improving the safety of the city and the region. As part of the ceremony, the keys to new apartments and modern appliances were handed over. The event was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Genghis Arinov, Akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov and veterans of civil protection.
The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Genghis Arinov, stressed that the new fire station will play a key role in ensuring the safety of the city and surrounding areas, as well as in improving the working conditions of the service staff.
"I express my gratitude to all those involved. This year, 9 modern fire stations have been opened in various regions of the country, and Aktobe is now on this list. Service dormitories are also being built. We see how the akimat supports our service. Today we handed over the keys to the apartments for the employees. This is a great joy for me," said the Minister of Emergency Situations. He added that the Ministry is actively implementing new initiatives aimed at updating the infrastructure of rescue services, including the construction of facilities that meet modern safety standards and equipment.
The new fire station in Aktobe is located on an area of 1.5 hectares and includes two main buildings — a two-storey administrative building and a dormitory for 6 office apartments. The depot building is equipped with everything necessary for the effective work of firefighters — from advanced equipment to modern equipment. The building area is 1,612 square meters, and the garage accommodates 7 units of fire equipment.
The administrative building includes a control room, offices for employees, rest and catering rooms. The hangar area is equipped with automatic gates that are resistant to frost and ice, and also has a separate area for washing special equipment. In addition, conditions have been created on the territory of the depot for comfortable living of employees, including a children's and sports ground and a street lighting system.
"We understand the importance of creating comfortable conditions for our rescuers. This not only improves their working conditions, but also contributes to improving the overall security of the region," said Akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov.
The project was implemented at the expense of the local budget, and the support of local authorities played an important role in the construction of the new facility.
The new fire station will ensure the safety of both the city of Aktobe and the surrounding settlements.
To date, there are 25 fire departments in the Aktobe region, which are equipped with 181 units of equipment. Since the beginning of the year, the emergency departments of the region have carried out more than 5,300 operational and rescue missions, eliminated about 3,000 fires and fires, and rescued and evacuated more than 10,600 people.
The new fire station in Aktobe is not only an important step in strengthening fire safety, but also an indicator of the region's readiness for modern challenges and threats requiring rapid response and high—quality equipment of rescue services.
Also, with the support of local executive bodies, 20 employees of the emergency department of Aktobe region found a roof over their heads. Novoselov was visited by the Minister of Emergency Situations and the Head of the region.
