Ermek Marzhikpayev, adviser to the prime minister, visited the region during a working trip. He got acquainted with the work on road and transport infrastructure development, new social facilities, visited the construction sites of the regional center. Akim of the region, Nurlybek Nalibayev, introduced E. Marzhikbayev to the new passenger terminal at the Korkut Ata Airport. Asit is known, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, in the framework of its social responsibility, invested KZT 1.66 billion in the construction of this terminal.
KZT 4.3 billion were allocated from the local budget to improve the engineering and communications infrastructure, build a highway and improve the territory. The new terminal, which meets international standards, includes waiting rooms for domestic and international passengers, a VIP lounge, automatic baggage handling system, Duty Free area, retail outlets, medical center, and other facilities. In the first 9 months of this year the airport served more than 2.64 million passengers, 20% more than in the same period of last year. The number of flights was 1420.
