The "sign of independence" was presented in the library of N. V.Gogol in Karaganda. Its author is the head of the Republican Qazaq club Nurzhan Sershauly.
The "Independence Badge" was developed based on the previously developed "independence ribbon". It was presented in 2020 in honor of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence.
- The main purpose of creating this sign is to popularize the history of Kazakhstan among young people, as well as to foster respect for national culture and traditions. Also, to tell the youth about the main historical events and figures who played an important role in the formation of the Kazakh statehood. This sign not only introduces the younger generation to the rich heritage of our country, but also contributes to the formation of a sense of patriotism," Nurzhan Sershauly believes.
The "Sign of Independence" is made in gold color and includes seven prominent historical figures and eight important historical dates. The central element of the sign is a map of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the inscription QAZAQSTAN. This means the territorial integrity and unity of the country. The sign also depicts the Buril Bayrak of the Turkic Khaganate, the Golden Man, Mide Kagan, Kerey and Zhanibek, Abylai and Kenesary, the representative of the Alash movement Alikhan Bokeikhan and the 1991 declaration of independence.
The "Sign of Independence" was highly appreciated by historians and experts. Among them is the author of the coat of arms of Kazakhstan, Zhandarbek Malibekov.
In the future, it is planned to issue a coin based on the "sign of independence".
