A working meeting of the Deputy Akim of the region Yernar Zharkeshov with the Permanent Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan Ulrich Kinne and representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) was held in the Akimat of the Akmola region.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of prospects and opportunities for further strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany. The parties discussed issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as mutual supplies of equipment and components. Particular attention was paid to educational programs: the development of professional education, training of personnel for key sectors of the regional economy and the exchange of advanced management practices.
In his welcoming speech, Yernar Zharkeshov emphasized the achievements and main areas of development of the Akmola region, noting that the region is a promising partner for international projects in the field of sustainable development.
Representatives of GIZ presented the Felicity 2 project aimed at reducing the gap between low-carbon infrastructure projects in cities and their financing. The pilot project is being implemented in the city of Kokshetau, in the Yubileiny microdistrict.
As part of the project, activities are planned to interact with apartment owners. Together with IWO (Eastern European Housing Initiative) and Kazakhstani experts in the field of energy efficiency, solutions will be developed to improve the energy efficiency of apartment buildings.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further interaction and implementation of joint initiatives that will help ensure sustainable development of the region and strengthen international cooperation. The planned projects will create a basis for the introduction of modern technologies, increased energy efficiency and the training of highly qualified personnel who meet the requirements of the modern economy.
