Cholpon-Ata, August 2, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, as part of his official visit to Kyrgyzstan, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev.The parties noted the high dynamics of bilateral cooperation, which is characterized by the steady strengthening of political dialogue and the expansion of multifaceted interaction.The Kazakh Foreign Minister emphasized that thanks to the political will of the Heads of State, Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations have reached a qualitatively new level of interaction.“Kazakhstan is firmly committed to the comprehensive deepening of allied relations with brotherly Kyrgyzstan based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, and consideration of each other’s interests. These are the goals we are guided by in building a long-term partnership,” stated Minister Nurtleu.The foreign ministers discussed in detail the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level in recent years and expressed their readiness to promote the strengthening of inter-parliamentary, intergovernmental, and interregional ties.Particular attention was paid to the preparation of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan and the holding of the seventh meeting of the High Interstate Council between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.The prospects for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation were separately considered. Kazakhstan consistently ranks among Kyrgyzstan’s top three trading partners.In the context of implementing the instructions of the Heads of State, the ministers agreed to comprehensively facilitate the deepening of economic cooperation and increasing mutual trade to 3 billion US dollars. According to the results of 2024, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.7 billion US dollars.The importance of launching the Industrial Trade and Logistics Complex project on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz state border in 2026 and the development of joint investment projects was noted.The ministers emphasizing the significant potential for cooperation, expressed their readiness to promote fruitful interaction in the areas of energy, transport, logistics, water relations, and agriculture.As a separate point, issues of deepening cultural and humanitarian ties, which form the basis of strong and long-term relations between the two states, were considered. Last year, the Days of Kyrgyz Culture and a series of large-scale events were successfully held in Kazakhstan.This year, ahead of the official visit of President Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan, it is planned to hold the Days of Kazakh Cinema, the 3rd Kazakh-Kyrgyz Youth Forum, and the solemn opening of the “Golden Bridge of Friendship” monument in Bishkek.During the meeting, the ministers “compared the notes” on current regional and international issues. An Administrative Meeting Was Held in Zhanaozen Under the Chairmanship of the City Akim 03.08.2025

"Abai's legacy — folk wisdom: harmony of word and spirit" 03.08.2025
The Kostanay Regional Universal Scientific Library named after L. N. Tolstoy hosted an open microphone entitled "Abai Murasi – halyk ulagaty" ("Abai's legacy — folk wisdom"), dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev.The event became part of a decade dedicated to the poet's anniversary, and brought together connoisseurs of his work, representatives of the cultural community and concerned readers. The book exhibition "Uly halyktyn – Uly Abayy" ("The Great Abai of the Great People") attracted special attention of the guests, where rare and modern publications telling about the life and philosophy of the great son of the Kazakh steppe were presented.A bright decoration of the evening was the literary and musical composition "Okudan kaytkan Abai" ("Abai returning from school") performed by members of the clubs "Kazyna" and "Orken". The audience heard a heartfelt reading of poetry, fragments from the famous "Words of Edification" and the performance of Abai's cult songs — "Zhelsiz tunde zharyk ai" and "Kozimnin Karasy", which still resonate in the hearts of listeners.The open microphone format allowed everyone to speak: there were poems, reflections on the importance of Abai's work in modern times, personal stories and memories. A public defender was caught attempting to pass a prohibited item to her detained son. 02.08.2025
The mother of a man accused of raping a resident of Astana, who is acting as his public defender, arrived at the pre-trial detention center to visit her son. During the meeting, she attempted to pass him a mobile phone, which had been concealed in the sole of a shoe. The violation was recorded by surveillance cameras.An administrative report was filed against the woman, and the case materials have been submitted to the court.Despite repeated warnings from the officers of the penal enforcement system, citizens continue to attempt to smuggle prohibited items into secure facilities.For example, at the pre-trial detention center in the city of Pavlodar, officers thwarted an attempt to deliver a mobile phone, charger, and earphones. During the inspection of a package intended for a 39-year-old detainee, the devices were discovered hidden inside a cake. An administrative offense report was filed against the Pavlodar resident who brought the package, under Article 481 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The case materials have been forwarded to the court.A similar incident occurred in Kyzylorda, where officers found a mobile phone hidden inside a bar of soap during a parcel inspection.“All citizens coming for visits are informed about the legal consequences of attempting to bring prohibited items. Facilities are equipped with X-ray scanners that allow quick detection of mobile phones, narcotics, and psychotropic substances. Everyone is subject to inspection,” explained Berik Baykenov, head of the Department for Regime, Supervision, and Security of the Penal Enforcement Committee.Since the beginning of this year, penal enforcement officers have prevented 346 attempts to smuggle mobile phones, seized more than 58 liters of alcoholic beverages, and over 10 kilograms of narcotic substances. A total of 128 civilians, including public defenders and lawyers, have been held administratively liable. National Guard Soldier Memorizes 50 Poems by Abai 02.08.2025
On the eve of Abai Day, servicemen of Military Unit 6506, stationed in Shymkent, joined the Decade of Celebrations honoring the great Kazakh poet. Among the guards ensuring the peace of the metropolis are those who have been passionate about Abai's work since childhood. One of them is Private Bakhytzhan Artykbay.From an early age, Bakhytzhan showed a keen interest in literature and began memorizing Abai Kunanbayev’s poems while still in elementary school. Later, he became the winner of a national competition for reciting Abai's works. Today, he knows more than 50 of the poet's poems by heart.“Abai’s words are a school of morality and wisdom. In my free time, I reread his poetry, trying to cultivate my inner self. Every poem carries spiritual depth, education, and moral instruction,” says the guardsman.Another admirer of Abai's legacy serving in the ranks of the National Guard is Private Zhuldyzbek Romashev. He, too, is a prizewinner of a national recitation contest dedicated to Abai’s works. His mother, a teacher of Kazakh language and literature, immersed him in the poet’s world from a young age.Today, both servicemen contribute not only to military duties but also to the spiritual sphere. Helsinki, July 31–August 1, 2025 – A delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan, Ambassador-at-Large Yerkin Tukumov participated in the Helsinki+50 High-level Conference dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act, which is the founding document of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. (OSCE).The anniversary event, organized by the Finnish OSCE Chairpersonship, was attended by over 1,000 representatives of participating States, partners for cooperation, executive structures and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization, as well as international and non-governmental organizations, including representatives of Kazakh civil society.The conference, which was held under the motto "Respecting the Legacy, preparing for the Future," emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation on all aspects of comprehensive security, with a special focus on the role of civil society. The preliminary estimate of GDP growth by the end of 2024 has been revised upward to 5% 01.08.2025
According to official data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the final growth of the country's economy in 2024 was 5%. Previously, according to preliminary estimates, GDP growth was 4.8%.According to the BNS, economic growth in 2024 is largely due to the development of the non-oil sector. The production of goods increased by 6.3% (preliminary data – 5.5%), the service sector showed an increase of 4.6%.One of the key factors was the increase in production in the manufacturing industry by 6.8% (previously – 5.9%). This is the highest figure since 2011. The construction sector also made a significant contribution by 15.3% (previously – 13.1%) and agriculture – 13.7% (previously – 13.3%).Related industries have also demonstrated positive dynamics.
