The organizers of WMC aimed to boost investment flow and attract more than 300 financialstakeholders to the country’s mining and metallurgy complex (MMC).Increase of Kazakhstan's MMC investment attractiveness is one of the most important issues of the country's political course and is associated with the imminent changes in the industry's operating activities. At stake is a special prize: the prospect of achieving significant revenue growth while reducing costs. The location of WMC in Kazakhstan as one of the most resource-rich countries opens horizons and investment opportunities for worldwide businesses. In cooperation with “Mines & Money”, the upcoming congress will be a unique platform for engaging in dialogue with first-string investors to discuss ambitious projects. On April 6-7, 2017 during the 97th meeting of the International Organizing Committee (IOC) of WMC in Vienna, the Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Development and Industrial Security Committee of the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an active member of the IOC WMCKanatBaitov made a report on preparations for the 25th World Mining Congress. In particular, Kazakhstan presented the expanded agenda of the WMC, which includes a variety of topics covering the whole chain of MMC: from geological exploration and mining to enrichment, from risk assessment to attracting international financing.
