Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov held a working meeting with representatives of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Representatives of KazMunayGas and QazaqGaz also attended the meeting.The parties discussed topical issues of cooperation, paying special attention to a number of strategically important projects. In particular, the issues of expanding the Shymkent oil refinery, one of the most important projects for increasing oil refining in Kazakhstan, the "Urbamid" project, which is important for the development of the petrochemical industry, as well as the construction of the second line of the "Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent" gas pipeline, which will significantly increase the throughput of the country's gas transportation system, were discussed.In addition, the issues of extending contracts for the "MangystauMunayGas" and "Uriktau" fields, as well as the supply and transportation of natural gas were considered."The implementation of these projects is of strategic importance for the further development of Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry.
