In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a set of events is being held in Kostanay region to support veterans and related categories.The region is home to 10 participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War and 1949 people who are equivalent to veterans. All of them receive social and medical support throughout the jubilee year.By Victory Day, one-time social assistance was provided to WWII participants - 5 million tenge each; prisoners of Nazi concentration camps - 100 thousand tenge each; residents of besieged Leningrad - 60 thousand tenge each; home front workers - 50 thousand tenge each; widows and wives of deceased veterans - 50 thousand tenge each.The total amount of budget funds allocated for these payments amounted to 164.7 million tenge.Since the beginning of May, all veterans and persons equated to them have been awarded commemorative medals for the 80th anniversary of the Victory - a total of 1959 people.Monthly social assistance is provided to veterans: 39,320 tenge to war veterans, 11,796 tenge to equivalent categories.Special attention is paid to spa treatment. This year, 108.7 million tenge has been allocated for the rehabilitation of 356 people. In addition, 54.4 million tenge was allocated to compensate expenses for those who chose the sanatorium on their own.On May 7, a delegation from Kostanay region took part in a military parade in Astana. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan welcomes the decision, announced today at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Board of Governors Meeting on Kazakhstan’s admission to the IAEA Far East Regional Group.Kazakhstan’s accession to the regional group marks an important step toward restoring sovereign equality of member states within the IAEA, in line with IAEA Statute and IAEA General Conference resolution GC(67)/RES/15 of 29 September 2023, initiated by our country. It also reaffirms Astana’s commitment to promoting peace and global security, as well as to strengthening the nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation regime.We highly appreciate the efforts of member states to restore sovereign equality within the IAEA and express our gratitude to the countries of the Far East Regional Group for their support and the high level of trust.This decision enables Kazakhstan to fully participate in the work of IAEA governing bodies. Vienna, May 7, 2025 – At the OSCE conference “Building Resilience through Inclusion and Empowerment,” Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alua Nadirkulova, took part and presented Kazakhstan’s efforts in promoting gender equality and human rights.In her speech, Ambassador Nadirkulova emphasized the irreversibility of democratic reforms implemented in Kazakhstan on the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and their support from international partners, including the OSCE, the European Union and the Council of Europe.Key achievements include the approval in 2023 of the Action Plan on Human Rights and the Rule of Law developed in accordance with UN recommendations, amendments and additions to some legislative acts on women's rights and child safety in 2024, as well as the adoption in March 2025 of the UNGA resolution on the establishment of the UN Regional Center on Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty. В Центральном Доме офицеров Вооруженных сил РБ состоялась рабочая встреча представителей оборонных ведомства Казахстана и Беларуси.Заместитель министра обороны Казахстана генерал-майор Шайх-Хасан Жазыкбаев провел переговоры с помощником министра обороны по идеологической работе в Вооруженных силах – начальником главного управления идеологической работы Министерства обороны Беларуси генерал-майором Леонидом Касинским.Стороны обсудили вопросы организации дальнейшего сотрудничества в информационной сфере и в области военно-патриотического воспитания.
