The result of industrial production in January-November 2024 was an increase in the physical volume of industrial products compared to the same indicator in 2023.
Industrial enterprises and industries produced products (goods, services) worth 1 779.7 billion tenge, which amounted to 4.0% of the national production volume. The index of industrial production was estimated at 100.2% compared to the level of January- November 2023.
In the structure of industrial production of the region, the largest share (69.2%) belongs to the mining industry and quarry development. The manufacturing industry occupies 27.8%, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air–conditioned air – 2.6%, water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities – 0.4%.
In the mining industry and quarrying in January- November 2024 1 231.6 billion tenge worth of products were produced, which is 0.9% higher than the level of the corresponding period last year. The volume of extraction of metal ores increased by 0.6%.
In the manufacturing industry in January- November 2024 494.9 billion tons of products were produced, the industrial production index in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2023 was 98.2%. The increase was noted in mechanical engineering by 16.7%, in food production – by 4.0%.
In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned products (goods, services) 46.2 billion tenge were produced, the industrial production index was 114.8%. The increase was recorded in the production, transmission and distribution of electricity by 23.2%.
In water supply; sanitation; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities, products were produced by 7.0 billion tenge, which is 15.2% lower than the level of the corresponding period last year. The decrease was noted in the collection, processing and disposal of waste; utilization (recovery) of materials by 35.3%, ewerage by 2.4%.
Among the regions the industry of Ayagoz district occupies the largest share in terms of output (49.8% in total), Zharma district – 20.2%. The industry of the Semey city produced 16.3% of the regional output, Zhanasemey district – 8.9%, Borodulikha district – 3.4%.

The industrial production index is a relative indicator that characterizes the change in the volume of industrial production in the compared periods.
