Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev spoke at an on-site briefing in the CCS about the measures taken in the city to improve the quality of medical services.
So, in June of this year, for the first time in Kazakhstan, the pilot project "Fetal surgery" was introduced. Now up to 150 intrauterine operations per year can be performed in Almaty. In 2024, 3,753 patients were provided with orphan drugs for 45 nosologies in the amount of 9.2 billion tenge. It is worth noting that funding in this area has increased by 10% compared to last year.
Over the past two years, the ambulance fleet has been updated by 37%. 55 cars were purchased in 2023, and 48 cars in 2024.
The Mayor noted that the correctness of the chosen course in the field of healthcare is clearly confirmed by the results of 11 months of this year, according to which maternal mortality decreased by 48.2%, infant mortality – by 5.4%, and mortality from malignant neoplasms – by 16%.
