A large-scale modernization of the solid waste collection infrastructure is underway in Almaty. This was announced by Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev at a briefing in the Central Communications Service. The infrastructure built in 2012 is physically and mentally outdated," the mayor said.
The head of the megacity noted that 2.8 thousand euro containers and underground containers have been updated at 400 facilities.
In 2025, 2.7 thousand new containers will be updated at 400 facilities. 723 platforms will be installed inside, including 1,683 underground and 1,000 euro containers, and a complete modernization of all container sites in the city will be completed.
