A record number of schools have been built in Astana. At the beginning of the school year, 18 schools had already been built and opened. Some of them are within the framework of the national project "Comfortable School". This was stated by Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek at a briefing in the CCS.
"Taking into account the population growth, the need for social facilities is growing. As you know, we have significantly increased the volume of construction of social facilities. For example, 18 schools have already been built during the new school year. Eleven of them were commissioned by the Head of State within the framework of the national project "Comfortable School," said Mayor of the capital Zhenis Kassymbek.
Educational institutions are being built in all areas of the city, including residential areas. For example, a new school was opened in December in the Urker residential area. The educational institution is designed for 4 thousand students in two shifts. Today, in this school, Lyceum No. 69, children study in three shifts. Thus, the new school will solve the problem of overcrowding. Children will start studying at the new school from the 3rd quarter.
In total, within the framework of the national project "Comfortable School" in the period from 2024-2025. 24 schools of the new format will be built. These educational institutions will create about 90 thousand student places in two shifts.
It is planned to open several more schools in Astana by the end of this year. A reserve is also being prepared for the next few years. For example, in 2025, it is planned to build and commission more than 20 schools.
