It has been snowing heavily in Astana for the second day. Municipal services, despite the bad weather and snowstorm, are working in an enhanced round-the-clock mode, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Last night, from December 20 to December 21, municipal services took out 2,357 trucks of snow from the capital, or about 30,000 cubic meters.
Since the morning of December 21, over 2,600 road workers and more than 1,500 pieces of special equipment have been involved in snow removal operations.
In total, more than 1.2 million cubic meters of snow have been transported by 99,829 flights from the city to landfills since the beginning of the winter period.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Areas with moderate intensity are also being cleared of snow — squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning on central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and refrain from long-distance travel in case of a storm warning.
