As part of the large-scale environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan", volunteers cleared snow from the courtyard of a nursing home living in the Baikonur district, the official website of the Akimat of Astana reports.
The event is organized by the Akimat of the Baikonur district and the Astana Zhastary Youth Resource Center.
Also during the event, the organizers presented elderly residents with a food basket for the New Year.
"This is a traditional annual event. We are glad to take part in such a charity event and make our contribution," said Daniyar Suleimenov, a volunteer at Astana Zhastary.
It should be noted that activists of Astana Zhastary are helping specialists of public utilities who are clearing the city of snow around the clock. During the work that is important for the capital, volunteers regularly carry out actions to distribute hot tea and baursaks.
In winter, snow removal campaigns are held in all districts of the capital in the courtyards of private homes of elderly people living alone and large families.
