It has been snowing heavily in Astana for several days in a row. Municipal services of the city continue uninterrupted round-the-clock work, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
On December 23, more than 1,600 units of special equipment and more than 2.6 thousand utility workers went on the day shift to clean up the snow.
During the night shift from December 22 to December 23, 366 road workers and 1,509 units of special equipment were involved in snow removal work.
During the night, about 4,000 flights of heavy trucks or 54,390 cubic meters of snow were taken out of Astana.
In total, since the beginning of the winter period, more than 1.38 million cubic meters of snow have been transported by 108,993 flights from the city to landfills.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Areas with moderate intensity are also being cleared of snow — squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning on central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and refrain from long-distance travel in case of a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
