To receive flood waters in the spring, the Kazvodkhoz branch in the West Kazakhstan region has released 14 reservoirs, on average, by 50%. Today, the total free capacity in the reservoirs on the company's balance sheet is 247 million cubic meters.
In addition, about 500 million cubic meters of water are planned to be sent to estuaries, lakes and reservoirs during the flood season.
"As of today, all reservoirs have been switched to winter mode. That is, we are preparing free containers for receiving flood waters. For example: we discharged 70% of the water from the Sholakankata reservoir, 60% from the Chagan reservoir, 65% from the Sulusai reservoir, and 50% from the Embulatov reservoir. The discharge of water from reservoirs for the safe passage of floods continues," said Rauan Khusainov, Director of the Kazvodkhoz branch in the West Kazakhstan region.
Also, to prepare for the flood period, the West Kazakhstan branch carries out work on the procurement of inert and fuel and lubricants. Mechanized cleaning of 73.6 km-long canals was carried out, damage was repaired at 6 facilities and routine repairs were carried out at 13 hydraulic structures.
