In the Karaganda region, emergency personnel, together with the deputy akim of the region, conducted a detour of flood-prone areas of Bukhar-Zhyrau and Nurinsky districts. During the detour, the progress of preparatory flood control works for 2025 was examined in the village named after Gabiden Mustafin, the villages of Chkalovo, Sadovoye and Kyzyl-Zhyr of Bukhar-Zhyrau district, in the villages of Kantai, Kertendy, Akmeshit Mynbayev and in the village of Nura of Nurinsky district.
During the inspection, the head of the Emergency Department and the deputy akim of the Karaganda region assessed the work carried out and made recommendations.
In general, the main flood control measures in the settlements of the region have been completed, more than 150 measures have been implemented in 55 settlements, where about 50 km of protective shafts have been erected and strengthened, culvert capacity has been increased on 49 sections of highways, 18 km of flood-prone riverbeds have been rehabilitated, 6 km of drainage channels have been cleaned.
To date, flood control works are continuing in the Shetsky, Abaysky and Karkaralinsky districts.
