The event took place in the capital's National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces.
It was attended by Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Jaslan Madiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov, members of Parliament, representatives of government agencies, JSC National Information Technologies, JSC Kazakhstan GIS Center and the media.
The general picture of the department's digital transformation was presented to the guests of the event by Deputy Minister of Defense Darkhan Akhmediev. As noted by the person responsible for digital processes in the army, work is underway in many areas: automation of troop management systems, resource management and public services.
– Today, digitalization covers the processes of education, healthcare, economics, and social communications. The defense sector is no exception, where it can now be used to achieve superiority over the enemy," he explained.
According to Deputy Minister Darkhan Akhmediev, thanks to cooperation with related departments, procedures related to the military registration of 16-year-old boys have been significantly simplified. The transfer of the service to a proactive mode allows saving more than a billion tenge of budget funds annually. As of today, the target indicator for their conversion to electronic format is 100%.
An automated control system has been introduced in the Air Defense Forces, which is used to perform tasks related to the protection of airspace.
The development of the Combat Training module is being completed in the Ground Forces. Its implementation will reduce the time for planning combat training, scheduling classes and simplify other issues. In addition, the accounting of combat training and the list of necessary documents will be fully automated.
In addition, the Armed Forces have a fully automated resource management system, ranging from personnel records to medical support, digitized databases of weapons and military equipment, ammunition accounting systems and much more. This is a whole complex of information systems that solves the issues of automation of accounting functions and management of human, technical and material resources.
– The Kazakh army cannot stay away from the processes of digital modernization. The Ministry of Defense, together with other government agencies, has done a lot of work on digital transformation, which is gradually coming to all spheres of everyone's life, and over time it will become more and more obvious and noticeable. High results have already been achieved, positive experience has been accumulated in the introduction of digital technologies, and the potential of forces and means capable of solving the tasks of digitalization has been created. In turn, we will support and contribute to the further development of the defense sector within the framework of digitalization," said Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Jaslan Madiyev.
