Astana athletes have become prize-winners at the Asian Road Cycling Championship, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The 44th Asian Championship is being held in Phitsanulok, Thailand.
On the first day of the competition, a mixed relay race (42.8 km) in the "elite" category was held. The Kazakh team showed the best results in this competition and won a gold medal. The silver medal went to the Japanese team, and the bronze medal went to the Hong Kong team. Among the winners was Dmitry Gruzdev, an athlete from Astana.
In addition, the Kazakh youth team won silver in the mixed relay race (21.4 km). Murat Kuitenov from the capital performed successfully in the team.
It should be noted that cyclists from 27 countries are participating in the Asian Championship. The continental championship will end on February 16.
