Final meeting on the results of passenger service, baggage and cargo handling in 2024 and plans for 2025

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAC) held a final meeting on passenger service, baggage and cargo handling at the airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by representatives of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the AAC, airports and airlines of the country. The issues of introducing new legislative changes aimed at improving the quality of service and respecting passenger rights, the results of the CAA inspections of ground handling of passengers, baggage and cargo in 2024, as well as plans for 2025 were discussed.
Also, the issue of preparation for the upcoming audit under the ICAO Universal Program for conducting inspections in the field of aviation security in the area of ​​formality facilitation was raised, including the submission by airports of updated programs and final protocols of consultations on the simplification of formalities for 2024.
Representatives of Almaty International Airport JSC, Korkyt Ata Airport JSC, Shymkent Airport JSC presented reports on the efficiency of the operation of new passenger terminals at the airports of Almaty, Kyzylorda and Shymkent.
Last year, domestic airlines transported 14.3 million passengers (9% more than in 2023). The number of passengers served at Kazakhstan's airports amounted to 29.7 million people (14% more than in 2023). Against the backdrop of growing passenger traffic, ensuring flight safety and aviation security, passenger transportation requires constant improvement of technological processes, maintenance and modernization of infrastructure, as well as regular training of employees involved in providing services to passengers, baggage and cargo handling.
In this regard, representatives of the KSA outlined the main types of violations identified by aviation inspectors during inspections as part of the control of passenger service, baggage and cargo handling ground services.
At the meeting, Meruert Zholdybayeva, First Director of Aktau International Airport JSC, presented the results of the "BEST AIRPORT SERVICE" pilot project at Aktau Airport, aimed at improving the quality of passenger service. Aktau Airport invited other airports to join the project to improve the quality of passenger service.
At the end of the meeting, dedicated to the Day of Civil Aviation Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a ceremony was held to award outstanding employees of the passenger service organization of airports and airlines of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For their contribution and achievements in the development of the aviation industry, as well as for their dedication, they were awarded letters of gratitude on behalf of the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Director General of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.
