Today, a scientific conference dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was held in Almaty, organized by the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University and supported by the United Nations. The event was organized by the "Sustainable Development" and "Science" student self-government organizations of QyzPU.
At the event, Akerke Abylaikhan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, congratulated all students and young people interested in science on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
"Today is the International Day of Women in Science. I congratulate all students and young people in science on this significant day! At today's event, we got acquainted with the exhibition of young scientists of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University who are engaged in science and working in laboratories. For our country, the development of science in the general engineering and technical direction, as well as the improvement of production, is very important. On this occasion, we saw handmade soap products made by our youth and got acquainted with research work aimed at increasing their usefulness through effective technological processes. I would like to say to young people, especially our girls who are on the path of science - it is necessary to continue science. The scientific research that has been started cannot be stopped. Therefore, I wish success to the students studying for their bachelor's degree! I wish them to continue their education in the master's and doctoral programs in the future and make their contribution to the training of scientific personnel of our country at the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University," said Akerke Abylaikhan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference was specially invited by Botakoz Sadybekova, a master of ecology, head of the Ecology Consulting company, eco-ethno-designer, eco-trainer and environmental activist, Duysenbek Inkar Daurenovna, an engineer at Yokogawa Electric Kazakhstan, as well as a PhD team from the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University. Also, students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh-British Technological University, International University of Information Technologies, Academy of Sports and Tourism, and M. Tynyshpaev ALT University participated as guests of the conference.
The scientific conference, which was held in order to promote the role of women in science and encourage young scientists, discussed modern research and innovative projects in the fields of natural sciences, physics, mathematics, and digital technologies.
"Welcome to the United Nations building in Almaty! Today, together with the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, we are holding a grand celebration event dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. I am especially pleased to see the interest of young people in science and their ability to turn their knowledge into practice. I am very glad that we have jointly organized such an important event," said Vlastimil Samek, representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, Head of the UN Information Center in Kazakhstan.
A science fair was organized as part of the event, where students presented their scientific projects. Each participant explained the purpose and results of their research in detail and exchanged views with the scientific community.
“The name of our project is “Smart Parking”. Currently, many shopping and recreation centers often have parking problems. Due to improper parking of drivers, it is difficult for other drivers to find a free space. Our project is designed to solve this problem. In the future, we aim to develop the project and implement it,” said Zharkynay Bakhytzhan, a 3rd year student of the “Informatics and Robotics” educational program of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University.
At the event, the Student Rectorate of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University made a report on the topic “Women in Science”. The main part of the conference was devoted to the defense of scientific projects and research works. The participants presented their research in detail and proposed innovative solutions. During the panel discussion, topical issues in the field of science and technology were discussed, and participants had the opportunity to receive direct answers from the university's PhDs.
At the end of the conference, the representative of the UN Department of Global Communications and Head of the UN Information Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek and Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation Dzhumakulov Zakir Daniyarovich thanked the active students and guests and presented Letters of Appreciation for their contributions to science and education.
“At today's event, our doctoral candidates, students and researchers presented their scientific projects. They also spoke about the significant contribution of women to science in history and today. Air conditioning will be installed and the facades of 9 buildings will be illuminated with architectural lighting.
Over three years, 938 projects worth 39.1 billion tenge have been implemented in Almaty under the IKB program. On the instructions of Erbolat Dossayev, 17.1 billion tenge have been allocated for these purposes in 2025.
