The Government will send working groups to the regions to discuss the amendments to the Tax Code with business

New amendments to the country's tax legislation were proposed at a government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said that it is proposed to increase the VAT rate from 12% to 16% with differentiation by sector, reform special tax regimes, and reduce the threshold for mandatory VAT registration from 80 million tenge to 15 million tenge. A 10% reduced rate is also proposed for the healthcare sector. Legal entities producing agricultural goods used to pay 30% of the VAT due to the budget. Now they will not pay it.
From today, six working groups will begin their work to discuss the Government's initiatives with the business community in the regions. Currently, the groups are traveling to the regions and holding meetings with businesses in local areas. Amendments to the draft of the new Tax Code are planned to be submitted to the Majilis by February 20 of this year.
