In 2024, 19,199 people were employed within the framework of the implementation of the "Silver Youth" project to promote employment of people under retirement age.
The largest number of employed people is observed in Turkestan (2,441 people), Zhambyl (1,845 people) and Karaganda (1,471 people) regions.
The share of women participating in the project is 55.2% or 10.6 thousand people, the share of rural residents is 11.3 thousand people or 59.1%.
Unemployed people over 50 years of age can participate in this project until they reach retirement age. To participate in the project, you must apply to the career center.
The Labor Mobility Center finances the "Silver Youth" project by providing subsidies to compensate for part of the employer's expenses for paying wages to unemployed people employed under the project.
The amount of subsidies is 70% of the salary in the first year of work (but not more than 30 MCI), 65% of the salary in the second year of work (but not more than 30 MCI), and 60% of the salary in the third year of work (but not more than 30 MCI).
After the end of the period of participation in the "Silver Youth" project, the employer is obliged to employ a person under retirement age for a permanent job for at least 1 year, as well as a person under retirement age until retirement.
Many Kazakhstanis express positive opinions about the project.
"I got a job at the "Zerde" pharmacy under the "Silver Youth" project. "The work is not particularly hard, and we receive our salaries on time. Nowadays, it is not easy for people over 50 like us to find work. Thanks to such projects, many citizens are finding a "shovel for two hands," - said Zeynekul Burkitbay, a resident of the Turkestan region.
