Kazakhstan and Great Britain establish cooperation on labor migration issues

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Law Enforcement Agency (GLAA) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as part of the Kazakhstan-Great Britain Strategic Dialogue in London. The document provides for interaction between the parties in the field of labor migration.
The Memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko and Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Affairs of the United Kingdom Stephen Doughty.
The document provides for cooperation between the parties in the following areas:
- exchange of information on the conditions and procedures for temporary employment of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the territory of the United Kingdom;
- exchange of information on the activities of private employment agencies sending workers from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom for labor service, as well as confirmation of their activities in accordance with the legislation of the host state;
- mutual cooperation aimed at ensuring and protecting labor and social rights of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan during their labor service in the territory of the United Kingdom, including within the framework of a Tier-5 seasonal worker visa;
- exchange of information on in-demand worker specialties and the necessary professional training of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The signing of this Memorandum is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in the field of labor rights protection.
