First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz met with students and schoolchildren as part of the republican festival "City of Working Professions". The Vice Minister spoke about the work being done to release water into the Aral Sea and Lake Balkhash, international agreements, and increase the status of water industry specialties.
More than 10 thousand people work in the water industry in Kazakhstan. Last year, the salaries of about 7,000 specialists increased by an average of 25%.
In 2024, more than 500 water industry employees improved their skills in specialized centers. This year, it is planned to improve the skills of about a thousand more workers. Of these, 105 specialists will go to China to exchange experience.
"The ministry has signed a memorandum of cooperation with 9 universities in our country. As a result, last year, 80 students underwent practical training at the branches of "Kazsuchar". This year, as part of the "Year of Working Professions", a new mortgage program "Nauryz Worker" was launched. Under this program, water industry specialists can also purchase housing at a preferential interest rate," said First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz.
The "City of Working Professions" festival, which is being held in the capital, will last until February 15. As part of the event, future applicants will be able to receive detailed information about working professions in the water industry and educational institutions of interest to them. Master classes, panel discussions, and a job fair will also be held.
