Two new park zones will appear in Almaty. Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev announced this during a meeting with residents of Zhetysu district.
"In June 2025, work will begin on improving the 12-hectare waterfront in the Kemel microdistrict, and in September this year, a project to improve the 10-hectare park zone in the Ainabulak microdistrict will be launched," said Yerbolat Dossayev.
It should be noted that in 2024, 3 new park-coastal zones with a total area of ​​24.6 hectares were created in Zhetysu district along the Esentai River in the Kokmaysa and Kokzhiek microdistricts and on Kedrovaya Street.
In addition, the Almaty Mayor outlined his plans for implementing the "Budget with People's Participation" program. This year, 30 projects will be implemented. This is the improvement of 22 public spaces, 4 courtyards and 4 other infrastructure facilities.
“This year, 30 projects were selected from more than 1,200 proposals within the framework of the “Participatory Budget” program. I would like to especially note that the largest number of applications in our city under this program came from residents of the Zhetysu district. I sincerely thank you for this,” the akim said.
The head of the megalopolis noted that this year the district has received an additional 1.9 billion tenge in funding, within the framework of which 34 courtyards in the Kulager district will be renovated. 3.9 km of pedestrian zones along Makatayev and Suyunbay streets have been improved, 300 lighting poles have been restored, more than 6 thousand square meters of areas will be planted with flowers, and the facades of 9 buildings will be architecturally illuminated.

Over three years, 938 projects worth 39.1 billion tenge have been implemented in Almaty under the Participatory Budget program. On the instructions of Yerbolat Dossayev, 17.1 billion tenge were allocated for these purposes in 2025.
