The "Zhastar" Theater of the Astana City Akimat staged the play "The Man Who Will Go" by the Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan Akim Tarazi. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared 2025 the "Year of Working Professions", the official website of the capital's Akimat reports.
The production director of the play is Nurfat Vakhitov, a prominent figure in the field of culture. According to him, the original language, idea, and structure of the work written more than fifty years ago have been preserved, only modern changes have been made.
"The main idea of the play is the importance of supporting modern youth in implementing their innovative ideas. Ways are considered to increase their opportunities and develop their initiatives that will benefit society. Since this year is the “Year of Working Professions”, the role of workers is also highlighted in the play. In addition, new opportunities for the development of agriculture are discussed,” says Nurfat Vakhitov.
The author’s wife, an outstanding writer-playwright, laureate of the Abai State Prize, Roza Mukanova, watched the play and gave a positive assessment.
I came to the play with doubts about whether the “Zhastar” theater would be able to fully understand this work, whether it would be able to convey the hidden meanings, and how the images of Kirpishbai and Asau Boken would turn out. But after watching the play, these doubts were completely dispelled. We are again meeting Kirpishbai in the 21st century. Society has not changed. But the force that changes it is the reformer Asau Boken. “New Kazakhstan”, “Just Society”, “Hearing State” – this is Asau Boken. We need such characters. The performance was staged in a way that inspires young people,” said Roza Mukanova.
In the “Zhastar” theater, the main character Asau Boken is played by actor Yerbol Tileukenov.
