Oleg Bolyakin's team won all matches at the IX Winter Games. In the group stage, they defeated China (6-1), Japan, Chinese Taipei and South Korea, in the quarterfinals, Hong Kong of China, and in the semifinals, China again.

It should be noted that the bronze medal in the men's category went to South Korea.
