This year, spring field work is planned to be carried out in the region on 806.4 thousand hectares.
Preparation for sowing was discussed at a meeting of the regional administration chaired by the regional governor Askhat Shakharov.
According to the information of the head of the agricultural department, Askar Zhusibaliyev, grain crops will be sown on 458 thousand hectares, oilseeds on 67 thousand hectares, fodder crops on 274 thousand hectares, potatoes on 3.5 thousand hectares and vegetable and melon crops on 3.4 thousand hectares.
While 51 thousand tons of agricultural crop seeds are required for spring sowing, 47 thousand tons or 92% have been supplied to date. Seed sowing continues in the districts.
6.2 thousand tons of discounted diesel have been allocated for spring field work. After the Ministry of Energy sets the price for diesel fuel in the near future, work will be carried out to identify the supplier operator in accordance with the law. 1,528 tractors, 135 sowing complexes, 1,446 thousand seeders and 1,432 thousand tillage equipment will be mobilized.
Under the "Ken Dala-2" program, applications for 3.9 billion tenge have been accepted for the sowing campaign through the "Agrarian Credit Corporation" JSC and the "Aktobe" SEC with an annual interest rate of 5%, 2.0 billion tenge have been approved and 532.6 million tenge have been granted loans. The acceptance of applications continues. In addition, 1.2 billion tenge has been allocated to subsidize the crop production sector, the funds will be directed to the development of seed production; reducing the cost of mineral fertilizers, pesticides and irrigation water," Askar Zhusibaliyev said.
As the head of the board noted, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State on the development of seed production in the country, a comprehensive plan for 2024-2028 has been approved. According to the plan, it is planned to increase the share of elite seeds of agricultural crops in the regions. For this purpose, it is necessary to organize work on the creation of seed production entities on the basis of leading farms in the grain-growing districts of the region: Aiteke-bi, Kargaly, Martok, Khromtau districts.
Using the existing subsidy mechanism, it was proposed to increase the volume of subsidized sowing for elite seeds from 15 to 30%, and for first-reproduction seeds from 20 to 40%. This, in turn, will stimulate increased seed production and increase the availability of high-quality seeds for farms.
The regional akim instructed to accelerate preparations for the sowing campaign and carry out all necessary work within the established deadlines. They were also instructed to organize the creation of seed production entities on the basis of leading farms in the four agricultural districts mentioned above.
“All preparatory work must be completed on time, and we must provide agricultural producers with the necessary resources, including seeds, equipment, and fuel. "We need to deal with the issue of seed collection. It is necessary to plan the fund accurately. District akims should work out the issue of expanding the areas for planting potatoes and vegetables, attracting farms, and especially using irrigated lands. This is an important step to increase the productivity of the region and ensure food security," Askhat Shakharov noted.
