The Republican Worldskills Championship of Working Professions starts in Kazakhstan

From November 14 to 16, 2024, Astana will host the WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2024 National Championship, which has become an important event for vocational education and technical training. This year, 555 contestants from all regions of Kazakhstan will take part, presenting their skills in 30 competencies.
Opening the national championship, in her welcoming speech, First Vice Minister of Education Natalia Zhumadildaeva noted that the WorldSkills movement is one of the main tools for increasing the prestige of working professions worldwide. Today, the world championship unites 89 countries, Kazakhstan is no exception.
"Every year our students demonstrate high performance on the world stage, and in September this year the national team showed the best result in the entire history of participation, winning 6 medals of distinction and an award in the nomination "Best in the Nation" in France. This is a significant progress that we have achieved thanks to the support of the Head of State. The state educational order has been increased to 145 thousand places in colleges, and in September this year the scholarship of college students doubled," the First Vice Minister noted.
This year's championship will bring together 555 contestants from all regions of Kazakhstan who will demonstrate their skills in 30 competencies, where college students will demonstrate their skills in 30 competencies, including bricklaying, body repair, teaching in elementary grades, IT solutions for business, cooking, hairdressing, and many others.
It should be noted that the winners of the WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2024 championship will be part of the national team of Kazakhstan, representing the country at the international EuroSkills 2025 championship in Denmark, scheduled for the period from September 9 to 13 next year.
