Ambassador-Designate of Kazakhstan Holds First Meeting with Kazakh Students in Hungary

Budapest, 14 August 2026 - The Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, Anel Bakytbekkyzy, held her first introductory meeting with Kazakh students studying at higher education institutions in Hungary at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the participants discussed current issues on Kazakhstan’s domestic and foreign policy agenda, the upcoming elections of deputies to the Kurultai, the main areas of the Embassy’s activities, as well as matters related to the studies and stay of Kazakh youth in Hungary.
Particular attention was paid to the upcoming elections of deputies to the Kurultai. A.Bakytbekkyzy briefed the students on the voting procedure and emphasized the importance of young people’s informed participation in the country’s social and political life.
The Ambassador-Designate informed the students that Polling Station No. 407 at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest would be open on 23 August 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are eligible to vote and are permanently or temporarily residing in Hungary will be able to cast their ballots.
In the context of the domestic political agenda, the participants discussed the adoption of the new Constitution, the reform of Parliament, and the establishment of the country’s new supreme representative body, the Kurultai.
Turning to the international agenda, A.Bakytbekkyzy briefed the students on the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy and the current international situation. The participants also exchanged views on international relations and the diplomatic service.
Special attention was also given to the education and life of Kazakh youth abroad. The Ambassador-Designate emphasized the importance of receiving a high-quality education, pursuing professional development, and effectively applying the knowledge and skills acquired. She also highlighted the special role of students as representatives of Kazakhstan abroad and encouraged them to respect the laws and traditions of the host country.
For their part, the Kazakh students spoke about their studies at Hungarian universities, their chosen fields of study, professional interests, and future plans. They also shared proposals for organizing joint initiatives and events.
The meeting was held in an open and constructive atmosphere. The participants expressed their interest in maintaining regular dialogue and further strengthening cooperation between the Embassy and the Kazakh student community in Hungary.
