As part of a working trip to the Abai region, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev met with representatives of local businesses. During the meeting, the Vice Minister explained the key areas of the Ministry's activities, including the development of domestic and foreign trade, promotion of non-primary exports, technical regulation, metrology and consumer protection.
"One of the priorities of the Ministry is the development of exports of Kazakh products to international markets. The President set the task to bring the volume of non-primary exports to $ 41 billion by 2025. By the end of 2023, the target figure was $ 35.6 billion, which is 2.3% higher than planned," said Kairat Torebayev.
Today, the export of Kazakh products covers more than 135 countries and is an important driver of the growth of commodity flows. Promising destinations at the moment are the UAE (Dubai), Qatar (Doha), Vietnam (Nachang), China (Xiyan), Iran (Tehran).
The Ministry has identified operators for the development and promotion of exports.
Following the example of advanced countries, Kazakhstani exporters can receive a wide range of insurance and financial support measures through an Export Credit Agency. On the basis of QazTrade, service support for exporters is concentrated, including more than 20 assistance tools. As noted by Kairat Torebayev, among them is the reimbursement of part of the costs of transportation, marketing expenses and participation in exhibitions and forums abroad.
The average amount of annual support over the past three years has amounted to 2.3 billion tenge.
The export acceleration program, which has been operating since 2020, successfully helps SMEs enter new markets.
The meeting discussed issues of concern to business representatives in the region, including price regulation for socially important goods, consumer protection, as well as export issues and other relevant topics.
Ilyar Nizamanov, General Director of Karazhyra JSC, proposed to create a dialogue platform for discussing issues of selling coal for export. The Vice Minister noted that this issue can be submitted to a meeting of the Operational Export Headquarters of the Ministry of Trade and Integration with the participation of relevant ministries, business, associations and JSC KTZ.
As part of the trip, the Vice Minister also visited large enterprises in the region with high export potential.
Thus, the first object of the visit was Qazaq Astyq Group LLP, the largest processor of sunflower seeds in Kazakhstan with a processing volume of up to 1200 tons of raw materials per day. The company's products are sold in the domestic market of Kazakhstan, as well as exported to China, Europe and Central Asia.
Next, the Vice Minister visited the Kazpoligraf enterprise, a leading manufacturer of packaging materials that exports its products to Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The working trip made it possible to identify the key issues of entrepreneurs in the region and outline further steps to address them together with government agencies.
