THE MINISTRY AND THE HUBEI ASSOCIATION SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek held a meeting with representatives of the Hubei Association for International Cooperation of Enterprises (PRC).
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of scientific and educational cooperation. The head of the Department noted that the Ministry is actively implementing the instruction of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the creation of a research academic hub in Kazakhstan, which will become an educational hub of Central Asia.
To date, agreements have been reached with 34 foreign universities and research centers on the opening of their branches and representative offices in Kazakhstan. Special attention is paid to the fact that the opening of branches of foreign universities is aimed at improving the quality of education in the country. Foreign educational institutions bring best practices, modern methods and international standards of education, which contributes to the renewal and modernization of the educational system of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the opening of branches of foreign universities can become a catalyst for attracting students from different countries. Through cooperation with foreign partners, the Ministry plans to transform regional state universities into international research universities.
The Minister stressed that branches of such Chinese universities as Beijing University of Language and Culture, Northwestern Polytechnic University of China, and Lu Ban Workshop are already successfully operating in Kazakhstan.
In addition, active work is underway to create a modern academic infrastructure, including the construction and reconstruction of academic buildings, laboratories and student dormitories.
Lixia Huang, Executive President and Secretary General of the Hubei Province Association for International Enterprise Cooperation, expressed gratitude for the meeting. She noted that she sees great prospects for cooperation, including areas such as science, education and agriculture. In addition, she stressed that in addition to infrastructure development, it is especially pleasant to hear about the possibilities of opening campuses and branches of educational institutions in Kazakhstan.
As part of the strategic initiative of the President, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Association of International Cooperation of Enterprises of Hubei Province.
