Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov took part in the exhibition, organized in the region for the first time, and met with masters of applied arts. It featured products made of wood, genuine leather, felt, sewing and knitted products, various statuettes, the press service of the akim of the region reports.
During the event, the head of the region noted that he was always ready to support initiatives aimed at popularizing national art, and instructed to hold such exhibitions on an ongoing basis.
– The preservation of ancestral crafts is our main goal. I would like to express my gratitude to the masters who continue traditional art, despite the fact that modern technologies and materials are being created at the demand of time. Your work, passing on the legacy of your ancestors to future generations, is very significant. Each of your creations embodies and awakens our national spirit. May our legacy never disappear. I instruct you to expand the horizons of such festivals, to hold them annually, as well as specialized master classes," S. Shapkenov said.
"Zhaiyk brand fest" is organized in order to develop crafts, increase the tourism potential of the region and provide employment for the population. The event, which takes place in the Exhibition Hall on Abulkhair Khan Avenue, will last until November 23. Starting tomorrow, the products will be offered for sale.
At the end, the masters of applied arts were awarded and received cash prizes in the following nominations:
- Wood products;
- Genuine leather products;
- Products of national quality;
- Products made of national felt;
- Sewing products;
- Products of national textiles and embroidery;
- Sculptural products.
