Geneva, 10 September 2026 – Erzhan Kazykhan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, held a meeting with Kazakh compatriots working in the United Nations system and international organizations, as well as with students pursuing their studies in Geneva.

In an open exchange of views, the participants discussed current issues related to Kazakhstan’s domestic and foreign policy development, including ongoing political and constitutional reforms, foreign policy priorities, and the country’s engagement in multilateral processes.

Particular attention was paid to political modernization and constitutional reform being implemented at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. It was noted that these reforms are aimed at improving public administration, strengthening the rule of law, enhancing the accountability of state institutions, and promoting public dialogue.

In the context of foreign policy, Kazakhstan’s commitment to the principles of a multi-vector approach, constructive dialogue, the peaceful settlement of disputes, international law, and the Charter of the United Nations was emphasized.

The meeting also highlighted Geneva’s role as one of the key centers of multilateral diplomacy. The professional experience and expertise of Kazakhstan nationals working and studying in Switzerland were recognized as an important asset for strengthening international ties and advancing Kazakhstan’s initiatives.

The discussion with young professionals and students also focused on opportunities for professional development in the fields of international relations, diplomacy, and the work of international organizations.

Following the meeting, the participants expressed interest in further developing systematic engagement between the Permanent Representation and the Kazakhstani professional and student community, including through the exchange of experience, expert contacts, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
