"Zhas satbayevshylar": a step into the future of Kazakh science
The First Congress of young scientists of Kazakhstan "Zhas satbayevshylar" was held in Almaty under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding scientist, Academician Kanysh Satpayev. The event brought together more than 1,000 young scientists and researchers from Kazakhstan, including those who successfully work in foreign countries, who presented their innovative developments and discussed topical issues of science development in the country.
In his welcoming speech, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev stressed the importance of the role of young scientists in shaping the future of Kazakhstan: "Young scientists are the heirs of the great scientist, Academician Satpayev! It is deeply symbolic that this event is held in the year of the 125th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, founder of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan K.I.Satpayev under the motto "Zhas satbayevshylar" in the building "Gylym Ordasy", founded by him. This event was the final stage of the complex of scientific events of the current year, declared the "Year of Satpayev" in our country. Our ultimate goal is to create opportunities for self–realization of scientists in Kazakhstan, which are not inferior to the conditions in countries with a high level of scientific development."
The congratulatory speech of the State Adviser of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Karin was read out at the congress: "The opening of the First Congress of Young Scientists is an important initiative that contributes to the formation and strengthening of the cult of knowledge and science in society. The Head of State K.K.Tokayev pays special attention to the support of scientists. All conditions have been created in our country so that talented and hardworking young people can receive high-quality education and engage in science. Today's meeting is a vivid proof of that."
Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev noted in his speech that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attaches great importance to the development of science: "As our President stressed, science and innovation are the main foundation for building a fair, inclusive and competitive economy," M. Ashimbayev said.
Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov in his congratulatory speech stressed that education and science are the strategic direction of the country's development: "The development of scientific research is a solid foundation for economic growth, social progress and sustainable development," E.Koshanov noted.
In his speech, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, spoke about state measures to support young scientists, noting that programs are being implemented that provide opportunities for internships in foreign research centers, participation in international conferences, and all conditions are being created for their integration into the international scientific community.
The Congress has become a platform for discussing key issues of the development of Russian science. The participants discussed the priorities of scientific research and identified the most promising areas of scientific activity that meet the needs of the country. The scientists also considered the possibilities of expanding international relations and attracting foreign experts. New measures to support young researchers, including grants, scholarships and internships abroad, were presented at the congress.
As noted by A.K.Kurishbayev: "The Council of Young Scientists is the "voice" of the young generation of scientists at the highest level." He also drew attention to the systemic reform in the field of science and stressed the role of the Academy in the development of domestic science: "Kazakhstan is undergoing a large-scale reform of the scientific sphere aimed at improving the effectiveness of research and innovation. The Academy acts as a coordinator of scientific activities in the country and promotes the integration of science and education."
According to him, the Academy is actively developing international relations, attracting leading scientists and advanced technologies to Kazakhstan. All conditions are being created for the career development of young scientists, including new laboratories, grants and scholarships. Thanks to these efforts, the international cooperation of Kazakhstani young scientists is actively developing.
Within the framework of the congress, an exhibition of modern innovative developments of young scientists, a plenary forum, a presentation of the book "Kanysh Satpayev phenomenon", 8 scientific conferences, a round table and networking were held, at which more than 100 best young scientists, including those working abroad, whose scientific projects were selected by members of the National Scientific Councils of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the speakers are members of the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Kurultai. The Congress provided young scientists with a unique opportunity to present their research to a wide audience, including leading scientists of Kazakhstan, establish contacts with potential partners and stakeholders, discuss current problems in science and find ways to solve them. Special attention was paid to the issues of commercialization of the results of scientific and scientific-technical activities.
The first Congress of young scientists "Zhas satbayevshylar" has become an important event in the scientific life of Kazakhstan. The participants expressed confidence that through the joint efforts of scientists and the state, a significant increase in the level of scientific research in the country will be achieved.
