Maktaaral hosted the opening ceremony of the Republican tournament on Kazakh kures "Auyl barysy" among young people born in 2008-2011.

The tournament, organized by the regional branch of the auyl party in the Turkestan region, is held in order to implement the address of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan, promote a healthy lifestyle, raise the National Kazakh kuresi and attract young people to sports.
Deputy akim of the region Yertay Altayev made a speech and wished the participants of the competition good luck.

About 300 wrestlers from Zhambyl, Kyzylorda regions, Shymkent and cities and districts of Turkestan region came to the competition, which will last for 2 days. Participants of the competition 35, 38, 42, 46, 50, 55, +55 and will fight in weight categories of +60 kg (camel wrestler). Winners and prize-winners are awarded special financial prizes, belts, medals and diplomas at the expense of sponsors.
After the opening of the tournament, the deputy akim of the region got acquainted with the sports infrastructure of Maktaaral district and visited the facilities. He got acquainted with the stadium "Alpamys batyr", located in the village of atakent, and the recently commissioned Sports Complex. The competitive cost of the Sports Complex, the construction of which began in 2023 under the auyl – El besigi program, is 600 million tenge. The contractor "Nuri-L-Zhetysai" LLP carried out construction work.
The Sports Complex has a large gym and gyms for athletes. It provides the opportunity to engage in volleyball, basketball, futsal, handball, wrestling, boxing, judo and many other sports, and is fully equipped with sports equipment.
In addition, on the territory of the building there is a football field with artificial lawns, basketball and volleyball courts.
Previously, the Central Stadium named after K. Munaitpasov, the Sports Palace "Myrzakent" were given to the public, and more than 20 small football fields were opened in various villages.
The working trip continued in the House of culture" Algabas". The new building, built within the framework of the program" auyl – El besigi", has 2 floors. There is a concert hall for 200 seats and several small halls for clubs. In total, today there are 9 houses of culture in the district.
