A meeting dedicated to the autumn tree planting and development campaign "Zhasyl beldeu" was held under the chairmanship of Akim of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy. The head of the region instructed to intensify work on landscaping and improvement of settlements in the region.
– There are disadvantages in the process of planting trees. If there is no irrigation system, then it makes no sense to plant trees. It is necessary to ensure constant watering and care. It is also necessary to control whether the seedlings take root. Submit a report on the number of trees planted and established. The work on the expansion of Zhasyl Beldeu and landscaping needs to be strengthened," Darkhan Satybaldy noted.
The head of the regional Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Kairat Abdualiev, made a report at the meeting. He said that as part of the President's order to plant 15 million trees in the country in 2021-2025, 1.1 million seedlings are planned to be planted in the Turkestan region. For this purpose, a comprehensive greening plan for settlements in the region for 2022-2025 has been approved.
According to the plan, 491,106 seedlings were planted in the spring of 2024, and 467,500 more seedlings are planned to be planted in the fall of 2024. At the moment, 438,970 seedlings have already been planted. Forestry institutions are fully prepared for the distribution of seedlings for autumn 2024 and spring 2025.
30,000 hectares of land have been allocated around Turkestan to create Zhasyl Beldeu, which are being transferred to the category of the state forest fund. In the autumn season of 2024 and in the spring of 2025, work on planting and supplementing forest plantations will be carried out on an area of 17,019 hectares, of which 8,185 hectares cover the territory around Turkestan. For these purposes, seedlings from the nursery adapted to local conditions will be used.
It is also planned to create a modern forest nursery on 120 hectares. Currently, 47 hectares are used, where seedlings of 21 species of trees and shrubs are grown, including 5 species of coniferous, 11 species of deciduous and 5 species of shrubs.
2.5 million saplings of trees and shrubs, as well as 150,000 annual and perennial flowers are required annually for landscaping Turkestan and Zhasyl Beldeu. Work on the registration of land for the nursery is carried out jointly with the akimat of the Saur district. After the full development of the nursery area, it is expected to produce up to 14.3 million seedlings per year.
