Students of Maqsut Narikbayev University held an unusual action as part of the dedication to students, unfurling a 25-meter flag "Taza Kazakhstan" on the stage, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The event took place at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace and gathered more than 5,000 participants.
"Ecology is not just a fashion trend, it is our reality, our present and our future. By supporting environmental initiatives, we show that we are ready to act. We can start small: don't litter, participate in clean—up activities, promote environmental awareness among friends and family," said one of the participants of the action, a first-year student.
The campaign "Taza Kazakhstan. Astana is a model of cleanliness and order."
As part of the eco-action, the city is carrying out sanitary cleaning of the city, storm and sewer networks, cleaning of streets, sidewalks, inner-block territories, public spaces and courtyards.
